But seriously, check out the fabric on tonight’s jacket! It’s all wrinkly round the shoulders, and looks thin and flimsy in the closeup.

Actually, that would be raw silk. That’s how it looks, the imperfections are part of the fabric, not snags. I’ve had several raw silk skirts and jackets that look the same way.

Looks like raw silk to me, too. Maybe someone did a shoddy job ironing the shoulders or something. If there’s any padding it could have gotten in the way.
